SMK Negeri 1 Tejakula Establishes Strategic Partnership with Gaia Oasis Resort

The commitment of SMK Negeri 1 Tejakula to prepare graduates who are ready to enter the workforce has once again been demonstrated through a strategic partnership with Gaia Oasis Resort. This collaboration was officially marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday, February 4, representing a concrete step in aligning vocational education with the needs of the tourism industry.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by the leadership of SMK Negeri 1 Tejakula, including Nyoman Agus Darmawan Bukian, S.Pd as the Principal, I Gede Kusuma Wahyudi, S.Pd as the Vice Principal for Industrial Relations, and Luh Putu Yuliastri, S.Pd as the Head of the Accounting and Financial Institution Expertise Program (AKL).

Through this collaboration, both parties agreed to develop several flagship programs, including Industrial Work Practice (PKL), guest teachers, teacher internships, strengthening the Teaching Factory (TEFA)—particularly in the Laundry unit—and providing opportunities for SMK Negeri 1 Tejakula graduates to be recruited as professional employees at Gaia Oasis Resort.

The Principal of SMK Negeri 1 Tejakula, Nyoman Agus Darmawan Bukian, S.Pd, emphasized that this collaboration is part of the school's strategy to address the challenges of the modern workforce. He stated that students should not only learn in classrooms but also gain direct experience of real industrial work culture.

Meanwhile, Made Sudiawan, HRD of Gaia Oasis Resort, highlighted that this partnership represents a long-term investment for the industry.

“We do not only need workers, but human resources who already possess strong character, work ethics, and competencies from an early stage. Through collaboration with SMK Negeri 1 Tejakula, we want to be directly involved in that development process,” he explained.

According to Made Sudiawan, this partnership provides opportunities for students to learn directly in a real working environment. “Students will be guided to understand industry standards, particularly in service and operational fields, including laundry management which plays an essential role in the hospitality industry,” he added.

The Vice Principal for Industrial Relations, I Gede Kusuma Wahyudi, S.Pd, also stated that this collaboration is expected to bring sustainable benefits to both the school and its students. He emphasized that the partnership will not stop at the MoU signing but will continue to grow into a meaningful and mutually beneficial collaboration.

Overall, the partnership between SMK Negeri 1 Tejakula and Gaia Oasis Resort aims to improve the quality of human resources within the school so that graduates will have strong competitiveness and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the industry.

This collaboration proves that when education and industry move forward together, the opportunity to produce outstanding, work-ready, and well-characterized vocational graduates becomes even greater.
